Local Hunger Relief Efforts

Share Your Story

This community has served in front of the shelter for the last decade. To celebrate our move to the new location, we are inviting you to leave us a voicemail and share an experience you had coming down serve people. We will take clips from the voicemails and post a video montage about serving.

Please tell us which group you served with, which night,

your name, & one moment that moved you.

Reno Pantries and Hot Meal Calendar

The citizens of Reno/Sparks never cease to amaze us. Throughout the week, many more groups fight against hunger – not only at the Community Assistance Center, but across the valley. So if Saturdays don’t work for you, we urge you to review the calendar and FBNN’s directory of local pantries (both embedded below).

By no means is this a comprehensive list of all food assistance resources and volunteer opportunities in Reno/Sparks!

We believe in the power of the community and hope to connect groups with active citizens like you.

Mobile Harvest

Access to nutritious, healthful food is vital for the community members we serve. Throughout the month, the Food Bank’s Mobile Harvest program visits neighborhoods across northern Nevada and eastern California to distribute produce and other fresh food items to clients.

Eligibility: a brief Intake Form when visiting Mobile Harvest for the first time and once a year after that. There are no other qualification requirements to receive food through the Mobile Harvest distribution.
