Intake Staff 

Scope and General Purpose:

The Concierge/Intake Staff are responsible for greeting and welcoming guests and potential guests, listening to stated needs, triaging best solutions, intake, and exit evaluations, encouraging a culture of respect, training volunteers, collaborating with the county caseworkers and providing the highest quality of compassionate care. Full and part-time positions cover a 24/7 schedule so please indicate your preferences in your resume and cover letter.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete initial interviews and enter information in Good Grid with a strength-based focus
  • Listen, respect, and document potential guest needs and desires
  • Divert people to long term programs, family supports, and other preferred options
  • Assessment and help with placement into the appropriate shelter facility
  • Collaboration with county caseworkers and RISE staff to improve outcomes
  • Maintain required documentation in Good Grid and update client records in accordance with governmental and agency policy. Documentation should highlight guest strengths
  • Collect client identification and other documents necessary during the initial intake
  • Collaborate with other providers to request and obtain missing client information as needed (i.e. medical, psych, entitlement and/or housing information, etc…)
  • Deconstruct closed case files and file in discharged client files
  • Submit and follow up with referral packages to external providers when clients are transferred
  • Complete minutes for staff meetings and develop and maintain meeting binders
  • Provide direct coverage for the client reception area, maintaining an inviting, comfortable, and professional environment
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and staff training
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail for guests and clients
  • Provide orientation to the house rules and regulations and tours as appropriate
  • Perform all/other duties as directed by management

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years of experience walking with people who are inadequately sheltered, experience mental health challenges, use substances, and/or struggle with poverty
  • State of Nevada Peer certification is strongly preferred 
  • Writing, computer, and communication skills are required
  • Bilingual – Spanish strongly preferred

Compensation:

  • $16 an hour
  • $1 grave shift differential
  • $300/month insurance contribution for fulltime staff

Other Requirements: 

  • Criminal background check clearance is a requirement for hire
